While the Cubs and Indians are still battling it out in the World Series, the team over at San Diego Studio have announced that Ken Griffey Jr. a.k.a. The Natural will be gracing the cover for MLB The Show 17. It’s a pleasant surprise since the previous cover athletes have been all-star players who are currently still playing like Josh Donaldson this year and Yasiel Puig the year before.
However, it’s been quite a while since Ken Griffey Jr. appeared in a baseball video game, almost 20 years to be exact and I couldn’t be more excited. Ken Griffey Jr. will also be a playable legend in the game so fans are in for a treat. Also announced on the PlayStation Blog were the many options for pre-ordering MLB The Show 17 like the $99 Hall of Fame edition which includes a New Era 9FIFTY hat among other digital goodies.
MLB The Show 17 will launch on March 28th 2017 exclusively on PS4.
