Minecraft is no stranger to the video game scene. It’s been around for almost 4 years already. Minecraft made its debut on the Xbox 360 on May 9th 2012 and originally released on PC May 17th 2009. But the Xbox LIVE iteration of the title made a run for a milestone of 5 million sales before the end of the year. Needless to say, they reached that goal.
That’s quite an achievement for a title that has been out for less than a year. Even more so for a title that was originally developed by a lone programmer, and then picked up by Mojang. The Xbox LIVE Arcade version of the title was co-developed by 4J Studios, and now they are back in the studio hard at work pushing out more updates to the title. They should be releasing a new patch later this month.
A hearty congratulation’s to the Mojang and 4J Studios teams. What a way to kick off the New Year.
