An anonymous source has informed Geekwire.com that Microsoft has increased security at its Redmond, WA headquarters in an effort to keep its hardware development confidential.
The security measures are reportedly in response to the recent next generation Xbox leaks, including a 56-page document that disclosed a product roadmap for Xbox 720.
The source went on to specify that employee access would be limited at four Xbox and Interactive Business Entertainment buildings to ensure top-level product & hardware confidentiality.
Access will be given to Microsoft Studios and Interactive Business Entertainment employees. Everyone else will need to register through a website to obtain a visitor’s status and will require a Microsoft employee with clearance to escort them into the building.
According to the source, security measures will be implemented by the end of the month.
Microsoft has not formally announced the next generation Xbox and has confirmed little information about its hardware plans. For more updates from Microsoft and the next Xbox, stayed tuned to The Game Fanatics.
