Microsoft Announces Lineup for New 'Arcade Next' Promotion

With Microsoft’s Xbox LIVE House Party promotion over, our attention has turned forwards; exactly what does Microsoft have planned for the rest of the year? Xbox users will have come to recognize the familiar seasonal promotions that grace our dashboards a couple of times a year, they may even be looking forward to them. But what about an entirely new promotion? Why the hell not!

Announced today via Major Nelsons Blog is news of a brand new promotion, this year taking place from April 18th through till May 9th. The excitingly title ‘Arcade Next’ feature will be highlighting some of the larger Xbox LIVE Arcade titles that are coming out this spring. This will also herald in the addition of an increased gamerscore cap for downloadable titles.

So what can we expect from this new promotion? Nothing but good things my friends, nothing but good things.

 

Trials Evolution – April 18th – 1200 MSP

Trials Evolution  is the eagerly anticipated successor to the brilliantly frustrating Trials HD from developers RedLynx. This newly re-vamped version of the game will feature the same action-filled insanity alongside some welcome new additions! This time around there’ll be a uniquely intuitive track builder for you to create and share mind-destroying race tracks with your friends and the rest of the community, as well as Track Central; The hub for the games community driven content.

BLOODFORGE – April 25th – 1200 MSP

With a brutal combat system, stunning art style, and a deeply compelling story, “Bloodforge” empowers you to slaughter hordes of demonic soldiers, deformed worshippers, and the gods themselves, using ferocious Rage Kills, devastating Rune attacks, and furious Weapon Combos. Help seal Crom’s fate – and the fate of the rest of the world – in this dark, visceral story of revenge, betrayal, and destiny.

Fable Heroes – May 2nd – 800 MSP

Fable Heroes” is an action-packed, hack-and-slash adventure built for Xbox LIVE Arcade. It delivers a fresh spin on the “Fable” franchise with a unique art style and gameplay that takes playful competition to the next level. Whether on the couch or using Xbox LIVE, up to four players work together to defeat enemies while also competing with one another to collect gold coins and level up. Precious gold collected in Fable Heroes can be imported into the forthcoming Kinect title, Fable: The Journey, providing players with a valuable head start from day one.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition – May 9th – 1600 MSP

The runaway indie success of 2011 is finally making its way onto consoles! This title will bring all the fun, creativity, insanity, and down-right awesome of the PC sensation Minecraft onto consoles. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is the brain child of both original developers Mojang as well as 4J Studios. This console version features noticeable changes to the original formula to make it its own unique experience such as intuitive new UI design, natural controller movement, Kinect functionality and Split-screen or Xbox LIVE co-op!

There’s certainly plenty to be excited about with this new promotion, the stellar line-up severely deserves the level of attention that this spotlight will give them. What better way to wave in the future of Xbox LIVE Arcade games that with a month of brilliant titles that are sure to keep you inside this spring!
