Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Gets a Price Drop

Less than a month away from launch, Konami is cutting the price on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. The publisher hopes to bring the price more in line with the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions, dropping the price to $29.99 for both the physical and digital copies. The current-gen versions will remain $29.99 for the physical copy, and $19.99 for the digital.

The reasons for the price drop are unclear, but it is certainly welcome regardless.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes acts as a prologue to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. According to Kojima, the game was split into two releases as a result of fan anticipation and the release of new hardware. It also acts as a way for fans to familiarize themselves with the numerous additions to the gameplay.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes releases on March 18 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
