Some people are celebrating this already and some are rising their skeptical eyebrows, unable to believe. This seems to put the cap on a journey that started right after Sheppard’s last mission. Almost four years of game development for a highly-awaited title that is certainly going to dictate the future of the franchise. If this is the real final call, you shall buckle up your belts, explorers. It’s going to be quite a ride!
Mass Effect: Andromeda – from Rumor to Reality
Mass Effect: Andromeda belongs to the category of 2016 games (that awful lot) which gave in optimism and announced a delay later on. It was the month of March and BioWare communicated back then a more realistic launch date, establishing it during Q1 of 2017. In October some suspicious lights switched on when an Amazon listing for an The Art of Mass Effect book stated that buyers would get their copy along with the game, giving precisely March 21 as calendar milestone.
But maybe one of the reasons why BioWare has finally come clean about this release has to do with a Xbox slip that happened yesterday. As part of their reward scheme for player who pre-order certain games, Xbox gave away Andromeda’s arrival. This indiscretion was quickly fixed (now Andromeda reads a “Coming soon” on the website) but the fact remains. Now, with the most concrete confirmation we have ever enjoyed.
What do you think, fanatics? Are there any Andromeda fans in the house? If so, do you think this is the final call for the game or do you believe on a future delay on BioWare’s part? Let us know in the comment section down below!
