Mass Effect: Andromeda | Cover Leak, the Andromeda Initiative and N7 Day

Andromeda

Ok, so Game Informer’s December cover just got leaked, arriving between the announcement of the Andromeda Initiative and the upcoming N7 Day. Interesting days for Mass Effect fans ahead!

Oooopsie, what a leak!, said no Mass Effect enthusiast ever. Game Informer decided to dedicate their upcoming December issue to Mass Effect and that’s all fine. Only, that they got the cover leaked to the vast world of internet before its time. No matter how quickly they deleted it from their website, the image is circulating already across the globe.

In the image we can see the feminine version of Ryder, Andromeda’s protagonist, next to a kick-ass Asari. We saw both of them already in the official Mass Effect video that Bioware presented at E3 this year. Under the game’s title, the following sentence: “A new hero rises to save humanity”. An advertising catch-phrase, no doubt, albeit an interesting one. We know that Ryder will not start the game in the same way Sheppard did with the first trilogy. While Sheppard was already shaped a hero, Ryder’s epic story seems to start from more humbler grounds.

In all likelihood, Mass Effect: Andromeda will see Ryder completing that journey to become the next paragon of human race. What humanity does he/she have to save this time and in which conditions though? What sort of danger is there in Andromeda now that the Reapers are out of sight? That’s probably not important though. Mass Effect: Andromeda is heading slowly to its release date in early 2017 and looking as stunning as ever.

The Andromeda Initiative Trailer and N7 Day

Two days ago we received the Andromeda Initiative trailer. The one-minute long video portrays the famous N7 guy (Ryder’s father, presumably) as he gazes up to Earth, the powerful spaceship to Andromeda shinning behind. Time has come to prepare for a future beyond the Milky Way. “A future that begins 600 years from where we stand,” he continues, pointing to the lengthy travel that awaits pioneers and colonists as they head to a new galaxy.

Although we still need to see more gameplay footage to be on the safe side of life, it seems Mass Effect: Andromeda is on track for its release in Spring 2017. Without a doubt, N7 Day will bring something else to the table and feed our hunger even further. One can only hope that Bioware’s team decides to give us an extra glimpse to that one of their recent 4K tech video.

If you wish to join the ranks of the N7 explorers, you can register at the Mass Effect official website. “Registered recruits will be among the first contacted to receive critical mission information, special training opportunities, and will also be eligible for reward upon program completion”, we are told. Whether this is a luring PR/Marketing campaign or something more exclusive, we have just secured our candidacy to the program. What about you?
