Today at CES, Logitech G announced their latest wireless gaming headset – the Logitech G533. This headset features 7.1, much like its predecessor, but it packs a ton of new features, an upgraded look, and unrivaled audio performance.
“Our audio team set out to create a headset that delivers the most immersive and accurate PC gameplay experience,” – Ujesh Desai, Logitech G Vice President
The Logitech G533 – What’s The Big Deal?
The Logitech G533 features professional grade wireless technology and custom, patent-pending, Pro-G audio drivers alongside DTS Headphone:X 7.1 surround sound. In laymen terms: this headset is the crème de la crème of gaming headsets. The combination of technologies in the G533 means the headset can replicate a 7.1 surround sound setup pretty accurately, and we know how important accurate sound reproduction is.
In the past, some compromise between wireless functionality and audio quality would have to be made, but the Logitech G533 looks to bridge that gap by providing both, in a sleek design to boot.
“With DTS Headphone:X and our Pro-G Driver, the result is amazing. Now, you can amplify game sounds to achieve the most accurate positioning and experience in-game effects.”
Wireless Functionality
Logitech’s promising advanced lossless audio – the best in high fidelity, with the added bonus of wireless convenience. The G533 has a range up to 15 meters (almost 50 feet), and it’s been tested in settings with high electro-magnetic interference – so if you’ve experienced the annoyance of incessant headphone buzzing, those issues are a thing of the past with these.
The wireless is lag-free, and low-latency as well.
Design & Controls
The sleek headset is also lightweight – with mesh ear pads that are breathable and easily removable for easy cleaning. It features a foldable noise-cancelling microphone, with a volume rocker and mute button on the left earcup allowing for on-the-fly adjustment. It also sports the popular automtute feature when you fold the mic up. Perfect for streamers, Youtubers, and competitive gamers.
If you want to get a little more handsy with the settings, you can use the included software to adjust the EQ as well as the audio and microphone settings on a per-game basis. You can also reprogram the mute button to serve your desired function
Battery Life
Fifteen hours. That how long the G533’s battery lasts on a single charge. 15 hours of non-stop use. The batteries are rechargeable, as well as replaceable…the latter of which is a rare delight. You can monitor the battery life with the bundled software, so you’re never caught unawares while you’re immersed in the gaming experience.
