Logitech has unveiled plans to acquire ASTRO Gaming and shake up the gaming peripheral market with a stunning combo that costs $85 million.
Both companies are well known to most gamers – ASTRO Gaming has managed to cultivate a respected lifestyle brand around their products while Logitech has had a strong footing in the PC gaming sector with their Logitech G lineup of mice, keyboards, and headsets.
“I’m happy to share that we’ve found this same love for design and the sport of gaming in our newest team members: joining the Logitech G gaming team is ASTRO Gaming.” Ujesh Desai, Vice President & General Manager, Logitech G
The deal is set to be finalized later this year, and it’s worth noting that Logitech is paying that 85 mil in cold hard cash. It’s obvious the company is looking to strengthen its position in the peripheral niche – particularly consoles. This combination of the two great brands brings an air of excitement, as we can’t wait to see what new innovations lay ahead.
