Killer Instinct | Enter Orchid

Over the past few weeks, Double Helix has been rotating free and playable characters in Killer Instinct. The character available this week is Orchid.

You may remember Orchid as the voluptuous and busty female ass-kicking character from the previous games — some might say she was a fantasy in nerd perversion, conforming to the amplification of certain female physical traits as a means to give women relevance in video games. Whichever side you come from, she’s now available as a playable character this month.

Now that she has some of her physical features toned down, she almost looks like a real person. Jokes aside, the secret agent is back and meaner than ever. She still wields her two Escrima sticks to deal great physical pain to her foes and kicks just as hard, maybe even harder than before, as ever.

If you missed your chance to play the original Killer Instinct titles, the 2013 edition is a great way to dive into the KI world. It’s a free game to download, and with each passing week, a new character is playable for completely free. It is a rotation, though. So when a new character is playable, an older character is unplayable, unless you purchase the characters. We’ve already gone through Sabrewulf, Jago, Spinal, Thunder, and now Orchid down. If you can’t wait to play all of the characters any longer, each fighter is $4.99 each or, you can purchase the entire catalog of face-breakers for $19.99.
