Injustice: Gods Among Us is coming out next week, a fact that is not lost on screenwriter, actor, director, and major comic book fan Kevin Smith. Smith appears in a new advertisement for WB Games and Netherrealm Studios‘ Injustice: Gods Among Us, which explores the possibilities of a world under the rule of Superman and the Justice League after a catastrophe wipes Metropolis off the map.
Smith is best known for the movie Clerks, but is also a prominent comic book writer that had a chance at making a Superman movie that – thankfully – never happened… so he knows a thing or two about the characters facing off in the Injustice Battle Arena‘s final round, Superman and Batman, a promotion that is partially channeled with the ad and a matchup that is explored in greater detail in this video by Smith himself.
Injustice: Gods Among Us hits the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U next week. We’ve previewed it extensively, and pointed out that the iOS game – while a decent free-to-play fighter in its own right – also unlocks content for the console versions. Watch out for our full review soon; meanwhile, enjoy the new ad below, as well as my favorite new catchphrase: “Aquaman‘s got mad sharks!”
