Publisher Crunching Koalas has announced their plans to bring Transhuman Design’s 2D shooter, Butcher, to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next month.

Butcher stars a cyborg programmed annihilate the the rest of humanity by killing anything and everything that moves. The nameless cyborg has a plethora of weapons at his disposal such as chainsaw, shotgun, railgun and even a grenade launcher. Trying to kill everything will take him through handful of varied environments, such as hideouts, post-apocalyptic cities and jungles.

The game allows players to be imaginative with their kills. Levels contain traps to help rid players of their enemies. Hooks, lava pits and saws provide a wide variety of options. The game offers “ultra-violent uncompromising carnage in the spirit of Doom and Quake,” according to a press release.

Developer Transhuman Design is known for 2D multiplayer games. The studio previously worked on Soldat and King Arthur’s Gold.

Butcher will be available for PS4 and Xbox One next month. There will be two different versions available. The standard version will be $9.99 while the Special Edition will set you back $12.99. The Special Edition includes the game and soundtrack. Expect Crunching Koalas and Transhuman Design to confirm the exact release date in the coming weeks.

PC players can already grab this bloody shooter on Steam as it’s been available since last October. It currently holds a score of 70 on Metacritic.
