Insomniac's New Fuse Trailer Shows its Bad Side

Insomniac’s first multi-platform IP Fuse (formerly known as Overstrike) has a new trailer and intriguingly it’s from the perspective of the bad guys. The alien energy source that shares the games title of Fuse stands center stage and the main baddie Fable explains exactly why he wants this powerful resource.

“Fuse will change the way we go to war, the way we hunt, the way we profit.”

While combining this four-player cooperative third-person shooter with their strengths of guns, guns, humor and more guns, Insomniac puts you in control of the misfit mercenary team Overstrike 9 to stop this villainous arms dealer from bringing the world to it’s knees.

I'd like some guns please.
And you’re going to need them. Shiny.

After 17 years of Sony exclusives, this is the beloved developers first foray, as some would put it, into the multi-platform arena and they face an uphill climb. A name change, art style redirection and delays have Insomniac Game’s in a precarious position, but with a pedigree as strong as their’s we could simply be waiting for another grade-A title from the creators of Ratchet & Clank and an “I told you so” moment.

Fuse is available for pre-order and set to release May 28, 2013 on both the PS3 and 360. Pre-order bonuses include exclusive weapon and armor upgrades, and the damage increasing “quickdraw” team perk.

“It’ll show the world what its like to feel truly vulnerable…”
