Injustice: Gods Among Us Martian Manhunter DLC Arrives Today

The second wave of DLC for Injustice: Gods Among Us has arrived today with J’onn J’onzz, better known as the Martian Manhunter. According to recent statements by Netherrealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon, J’onn is one of a few characters that have been in big demand since the DC Comics fighting game launched, and there are hints that Zatanna will be the next character added to the roster.

We’ve seen trailers of MM in Injustice before, and it looks like his shape-shifting abilities will come in handy, giving him a feel similar to Dhalsim in the Street Fighter series. The character started off as a background character in the Watchtower stage of Injustice, which immediately led to people clamoring for him to join the playable roster. Unfortunately, he won’t be a part of the game’s stellar story mode, nor will any of the other DLC characters, which feels like a missed opportunity to expand on the game’s world of a tyrannical Superman having snapped in the wake of his wife’s death.

It’ll cost you $4.99 on the PSN or 400 MS Points on Xbox LIVE for the new character, who is not included in the Injustice Season Pass. It’s expected he’ll hit the Wii U eventually, but that console wasn’t included in today’s announcement. For an in-depth look at the Martian Manhunter, check out the video below.
