Injustice 2 Shown Prior to E3 | E3 2016

The time is neigh! E3 is upon us and game announcements have been dropping all over the place. One of the announcements that stirred a commotion in the fighting game community would be the sequel to NetherRealm’s Injustice, aptly named Injustice 2 (title unknown).

The gameplay trailer for Injustice 2 was the second trailer after the announcement aired a few days ago. The gameplay trailer was shown on NetherRealm’s Twitch channel yesterday, depicting a few new characters entering the roster including Supergirl, Gorilla Grodd and Atrocitus.

Throughout the trailer, we were able to see these new characters in action, as well as the familiar faces like Batman and Aquaman. Aquaman put the beat down on Grodd and literally fed the ape to his pet shark. We even got to witness Batman using the Batplane to shoot down Superman, feeding into the post Batman Vs. Superman craze.

What’s still boggling is the use of armor that was first shown during the announcement trailer. The armor could either be separate skins available for purchase or some sort of mechanic used to further the “Every Fight Defines You” motto.

Making its return to the sequel, level transition attacks were put on display as we witnessed Supergirl crashing through a monorail, hitting against the standing poles and seats until she inevitably falls back out. It is worth noting that Black Manta, one of Aquaman’s villains, could be seeing during a level transition as he beats on Aquaman with his trident.

There’s a very good chance we’ll find out more about Injustice 2 during this week of E3 goodness, so keep those eyes peeled!
