The Hyperkin RetroN 5 Has a Release Date

The holidays seem a bit brighter now with the release date announcement of Hyperkin’s RetroN 5 console.

The RetroN 5 was suppose to come out sooner than their December 10th release date, however certain complications got in their way. Besides, I’m sure everyone can appreciate the delay if it helps the product to run better and without those nasty complications. So what’s new with RetroN 5 from what we’ve seen in the past? The design itself has been changed for better ventilation and to allow to use of Master System cartridges.

As mentioned above, the RetroN 5 will be out in the US and UK on December 10th for $99.99. This system will play several retro favorites from classic systems of the past: NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, GBA, imports all in one place. Not only that, but the RetroN 5 comes with a USB and HDMI port. You’ll be able to use retro controllers or the controller that comes with the unit which is bluetooth.

“RetroN 5 will be the most amazing classic game console. We thank everyone who has been patient and supportive of Hyperkin during development.” – Steven Mar, Executive Director at Hyperkin

Check out our Oh Snap video from back in April when the RetroN 5 was first announced. The system has gone through modifications and changes since April, such as the price and the release date, however this system should be a great gift for those new gamers and those who wish to relive past memories.
