Indie developer Huey Games has confirmed that its retro inspired shoot ’em up, Hyper Sentinel, will also release on Nintendo Switch along with PC (via Steam), PS4 and Xbox One. The game is currently set to release sometime this summer. You can get a glimpse of the game thanks to the new Nintendo Switch announcement trailer above.
Hyper Sentinel is a Kickstarter success story and the game has been built from the ground up by indie developer Jonathan Port. The Kickstarter campaign managed to smash its initial goal with 18 days left(!) for the crowdfunding campaign.
Here’s what the CEO & Creative Director of Huey Games had to say about this new version:
We are thrilled to be bringing Hyper Sentinel to Nintendo’s newest platform. The fast-paced, high-score chasing gameplay loop is a perfect match for the Switch, and we cannot wait for players to take this amazing experience with them on the go.
The game will run at a fluid 60fps throughout it’s 12 levels. Competitive players will able to climb the online leaderboards and tackle the game’s 3 difficulty modes. To match the game’s retro inspired visuals, the soundtrack will be a chiptune medley from FRACTURES.
On their official website, Huey Games has released a demo of the shooter. The demo is available for Linux, Mac and PC. Android owners can also sign up for a mobile version of the demo. They do mention limited quantities of demos for iOS devices, however it’s unsure if they’re any left.
