Heart Machine’s Hyper Light Drifter is finally coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles by the end of July.
The game has been available on Steam for the past four months now and has seen a good reception from critics as well as the gaming community. Dubbed a ‘Stylized Indie Zelda’, Hyper Light Drifter is as gorgeous as it is deadly; this game will test players’ skills and be relentless at it.
On July 26th, this stylish homage to the Zelda games of old, will become available digitally on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is unknown whether or not the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions will come with the co-op feature of Hyper Light Drifter, which was added to the PC version, at launch or may arrive as a patch after release.
The price has not yet become known as of this time. We can only assume Hyper Light Drifter might cost about the same as the PC version, $19.99.
Thanks to Heart Machine’s latest Kickstarter update, we also know Hyper Light Drifter will make its way towards the PlayStation Vita and Wii U. The Vita version should be expected, at the earliest, around the Fall season as optimization issues need correction.
Unfortunately, there is no release date window for the Wii U, leaving that version in the wind. It’s just good to see the Wii U version is no longer in limbo as the “internal contractual issues” have been worked out.
Hyper Light Drifter started out as a KickStarter that generated above and beyond its 27K goal. Raising approximately $645,158, it was clear that the people wanted Hyper Light Drifter. Now even more people can experience the fun and frustrations when this title launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this month.
