Hasbro, Mimoco Team Up For MLP USB Flash Drives

For too long, “bronies” have been tasked with using traditional USB memory sticks to move their pony pictures and movies around. Now Mimoco looks to unleash the power of friendship all over their wallets. Hasbro and Mimoco have struck a licensing deal over Hasbro’s insanely popular My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, with a line of USB flash drives featuring adorable ponies with adorably oversized heads.

Starting at $19.99, featuring USB 3.0 compatibility and available in up to 128GB of storage space, three of the show’s main characters: Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity come in the Mimobot style that Mimoco has also applied to the G.I. Joe and Transformers product lines, although these ones are easily 20% cooler. Plus, each one comes pre-loaded with wallpapers, screensavers, custom icons and more, whether it’s for your laptop or your daughter’s.

For those unaware, either by choice or sheer dumb luck, the My Little Pony brand is experiencing a renaissance with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, an animated series on the Hub network that just finished its third season. Created by the woman behind such hits as Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends and The Powerpuff Girls, Lauren Faust, it’s found not only a strong audience in its target demographic – young girls – but also in adults. Faust has said her goal was to make a program that would entertain children as well as their parents.

And yes, there’s an annnouncement video. Deal with it.
