The upcoming Xbox Live original series, Halo: Nightfall – which will bridge Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians – has given us an official look at the new Spartan, Jameson Locke.
Played by Mike Colter who is known for his roles in American Horror Story, The Good Wife and The Following, the character of Agent Locke is to be introduced in Halo: Nightfall to give fans the opportunity to get to know him before they meet him again in Halo 5: Guardians.
Originally reported to be playing a character named, Marlowe during production, the rechristened Agent Locke is described as a, “rising star in a futuristic army with reservations about those in command.”
According to Variety, Locke and his team were tasked by the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) to investigate suspicious terrorist activity on a distant colony. They would eventually locate an ‘ancient hellish artifact’ during their search which is likely what kick starts the main plot of the series.
Halo: Nightfall, produced by Ridley Scott, reportedly will have narrative connections with the Halo TV series that sees Steven Spielberg as its executive producer.
Fans can also expect to see and hear more of Halo: Nightfall at Comic Con on July 24th, 11:45 a.m as Colter will take the stage with 343‘s executive producer Kiki Wolfkill and Frank O’ Connor to discuss the project and air some footage.
