Halo: The Master Chief Collection's Achievements Revealed

Back in the summer of this year, Halo: The Master Chief Collection was announced at E3. Executive Producer Dan Ayub revealed that the game would be the first Xbox One title to feature a total of 4,000 GamerScore. Well, today marks the unveiling of that monstrous achievement list.

Right off the bat, Halo: The Master Chief Collection will contain a total of 400 achievements that add up to 4,000 GamerScore. Fans of the series will be pleased to know that 343 Industries is catering to both the online multiplayer aspect of the games, as well as each of the individual campaigns.

A decent chunk of the achievements are going to span all four titles. These range from milestone achievements for killing AI enemies, killing online opponents, winning online matches, completing each of the campaigns on all the difficulty settings, completing the Master Chief Saga campaign playlist, and last but not least, completing all four campaigns on LASO.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with that term, you’ll have to beat all four campaigns on Legendary with every single skull modifier turned on. Talk about a real challenge. Overall, these cross-game achievements total 71 for 875 GamerScore.

On the other hand, each of the individual games will also house their own achievements.

Halo-Collection

More specifically, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary features 91 achievements worth 855G, Halo 2 Anniversary features 111 achievements worth 1005G, Halo 3 has 76 achievements worth 695G and Halo 4 finishes the list with 51 achievements worth 570G. As mentioned, all this totals 400 achievements for 4,000 GamerScore.

It seems as though some of the achievements in each game overlap from their original achievement list, but there are still plenty of creatively fresh achievements here. New online leaderboards will be tagged to achievements requiring players to complete missions in “Par Time” and with “Par Score.” Additionally, terminals and skulls make their return in each of the games while some new collectibles in Halo 2 are also introduced.

Probably our favorite, is all the great easter egg achievements between Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, and Halo 3Most hardcore fans of the series will be familiar with the MEGG, Scarab Gun, Soccer Ball, and Guilty Spark Pelican Ride eggs, while some newer easter eggs are going to cause players to carefully explore each and every level thoroughly.

Earlier today, the collection’s launch-day multiplayer playlist was also revealed. It offers up a nice balance of twelve playlists that span all four titles while juggling the online community’s favorites. Fan-favorites such as SWAT, Team Doubles, Multi-Team and Team Snipers will unfortunately be swapped out from week to week on a rotational basis though.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is out on Nov. 11, exclusively for Xbox One.
