The Halo Master Chief Collection is finally here. Hopefully your Xbox One hard drive is ready, because you’re going to need 60 GB of storage.
On the one hand, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the game’s install is this large. The Halo Master Chief Collection includes a total of four games in it. It’s not like the disc is lean on content. Yet it’s a bit worrying that I’ve already personally hit the cap for my Xbox One’s storage space. I had to play a little uninstall roulette in order to make the game fit. Considering other games that are coming out this month (Far Cry 4, Dragon Age Inquisiton) it’s important to know that storage space is going to be at a premium.
It’s also important to know that the game’s box does not list a requirement for storage space. While PS4 boxes have the needed hard drive space listed on the back of the box, Xbox One games do not. Just make sure you keep this information handy when you crack the seal and boot up your system before installing. Otherwise you’ll be prompted to make some storage space, just like I was.
Does this mean that it’s time for Microsoft to offer larger storage devices? Let us know what you think in the comments.
