Halo 5: Guardians Has a 9GB Day One Patch, Available to Pre-Load This Week

Halo 5: Guardians is due to land in just one week, and if you’ve pre-downloaded the game digitally, you can download the day one patch a few days early.

Last week, 343 Industries Executive Producer Josh Holmes confirmed on Twitter that Halo 5: Guardians is going to have a 9GB day one patch. This patch will cover most of the game’s Multiplayer content, such as tweaks to both Arena and Warzone maps and other general gameplay mechanics.

Rolling out with more news, Holmes also revealed this week that players who have already pre-downloaded their digital copy of Halo 5: Guardians can pre-load this day one patch starting on Thursday, October 22nd. Just remember to lead your console to “Instant On” so the update will begin downloading automatically. Unfortunately, this leaves those purchasing the game physically at a slight disadvantage as they’ll need to install the base game (up to 60GB) and the day one patch on the 27th. Such is the sacrifice we face nowadays it seems.

Halo 5: Guardians is coming to Xbox One next week on October 27th.
