Halo 5: Guardians Goes Gold Three Weeks Prior to Launch

With just three weeks until launch, Microsoft and 343 Industries have announced that Halo 5: Guardians has officially gone gold. All aboard the hype train, Spartans!

The announcement was made over on Halo Waypoint earlier this morning. “This is the culmination of an incredible three-year journey for our team,” said Executive Producer Josh Holmes. “Together we set out to accomplish an ambitious vision and deliver a Halo game built from the ground up for the Xbox One. Now as we near the release of the game on October 27, we couldn’t be more excited to share the results with you, the fans.”

Holmes continues to assure fans that Halo 5: Guardians’ scale is bigger than anything the Halo games have covered before and there’s loads of content to experience within the game as well.

Also, Holmes suggests that digital buyers, who can pre-download the game starting next week, set their Xbox One consoles to “Instant On” as a means of downloading a day one update. “We will have a multiplayer content update, prior to launch, that will supplement the online multiplayer goodness with map content for Arena Multiplayer and our all new massive-scale 12v12 Warzone Multiplayer.” Anyone buying the physically on the 27 will automatically install the day one update after the base is installed to the Xbox One.
