Cartographer’s Gift, Halo 5: Guardians‘ massive December content update which includes fan-favorite Forge Mode, is out today.
Earlier this month, 343 Industries revealed December’s free update at the Game Awards Show. Boasting a dozen new REQ items, new Arena and Warzone maps, and the long awaited Forge Mode, Cartographer’s Gift will begin rolling out today. It looks to be a hefty update, sitting at 3.8GB. With the amount of content it brings, whether that’s the classic M41 “SPNKr” Rocket Launcher and MARK IV armor set, it’s going to be worth it.
There’s also “The Battle of Noctus,” a new daylight, city-themed Warzone map, as well as Big Team Battle maps “Antifreeze” and “Entombed,” and Arena map “Overgrowth.” You can take a look at the infographic below for a peak at what to expect.
As if that’s not already a load of greatness to take in, Halo 5: Guardians’ update includes several new features and fixes. You can check out the patch notes over on HaloWaypoint, but to be brief, the update adds a File Browser for every player, a new controller setting, social and ranked Holiday playlists (Doubles is back!), and a few key tweaks from HUDs and Rankings, to networking and general stability.
It’s a great time to be a Halo fan, wouldn’t you say? To believe we’ll get free monthly updates this size for the next six months is a testament to 343 Industries’ love and support for both the game itself and more importantly, the Halo community.
