A special treat for all you Microsoft Fanboys out there. Now you can get a sneak peak at Halo 4’s Warthog in the Kinect enabled “Auto Vista Mode” Unfortunately the Warthog will not be playable in Forza 4, however it’s a pretty awesome easter egg. Here’s a quote from Microsoft’s “Resident Car Expert” Alex Kierstein from a recent article on Turn 10’s website.
“Don’t mess with the ‘Hog, or you might find yourself shot full of AP lead from the UNSC’s standard-issue M41 Vulcan minigun mounted on a fully swiveling turret. You see, the ’54 AMG Transport Dynamics M12 Warthog FAV is the UNSC Marine’s workhorse light utility vehicle, but it’s light only in the sense of its reflexes. With four-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, and fully-independent long-travel suspension, there’s rarely terrain on this world (or any other) that the Warthog can’t dispatch with prejudice. Underneath the fully removable hood resides a massively powerful (and clean-burning) 12-liter internal combustion engine powered by hydrogen, which thankfully the Warthog can crack out of ordinary water using the onboard Graf/Hauptman actuator, eliminating the hazard of flammable fuel tanks and giving the M12 incredible range. More than 10 feet tall and sporting enormous, nearly indestructible nanotube tires with reactive treads, the Warthog is truly intimidating to enemies and a welcome sight to friends—that is, if you can spot it. The armor is coated with nano-prismatic paint, allowing Marines to choose between a number of pre-approved camouflage patterns. Whether it’s extracting a team of Marines from a hot LZ overrun with Elites or bounding over broken terrain during forward recon maneuvers observing Covenant hostiles, the Warthog is most at home when the going gets tough.”
Don’t miss your chance to check out the Warthog when Forza 4 releases October 11th, 2011.
