Grand Theft Auto V Online Celebrates Independence Day

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to hit the streets of Los Santos once again, then Rockstar is pulling out a American patriotic treat for you. Raise your flags, grab your guns and sing the national anthem the world over! Grand Theft Auto V Online latest update is available today and is filled with plenty of Independence Day themed surprises.

Starting today, players who boot up the latest update for Grand Theft Auto V Online will have the chance to experience The Independence Day Special sponsored by Ammu-Nation. Two entirely new vehicles will be included, once of which is the Liberator, a monster truck just itching to mow down any sort of traffic standing in the way. New motorcycles are added as well, including the red, white and blue colored Sovereign.

Patriotic Flare

New weapons also comes with the 4th of July festivities. The Musket is is long range whipper-snapper. One shot and your enemies are out cold. Of course, what better way to show your patriotic spirit than to obliterate oncoming cars with the Firework Rocket Launcher?

In addition to these weapons and vehicles, there are also several small, yet rewarding additions to the Independence Day Special pack in Grand Theft Auto V Online. Players can now head over to Pleasure Pier and ride roller coasters and ferris wheels. Up to seven properties are also up for grabs, so this update is especially nice if you’ve been looking for another place to throw a party.

Independence Day Special 2

Some technical reworking has also been done to help balance the online even more, especially with the new Mental State system. For example, your Mental State won’t shoot up after having knocked off hostiles or players who have bounties over their heads. However, this also goes both ways as their Mental State will also stay at current level when they’re trying to defend themselves from incoming bounty pursuits.

You should really stop reading this article and go play it now. This compatibility pack is available for the Xbox 360 and for the PlayStation 3 and it won’t be waiting on you for long. Rockstar hasn’t set an exact expiration date for redemption of the Independence Day Special, but they’re pushing for mid-July.
