Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is Confirmed for Xbox 360

Following the rumor earlier this week that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas would be returning to the Xbox 360 in a remastered format, such speculation can now be put to rest. Rockstar has officially confirmed that the open-world title will be coming to Xbox 360 on Oct. 26.

In observing an inquiry on Rockstar’s support page, a general user had voiced concern that the original version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas had been unexpectedly removed from the Xbox Live Games Store. In response, Rockstar Support delivered the following message, “GTA: San Andreas on the Xbox Marketplace will be available again for purchase beginning October 26th, 2014, through Games on Demand.”

The good news? This time, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be re-released with 720p resolution, enhanced draw distances and achievement support. In total, the game will offer players 33 achievements that range from completing the main storyline to working out at the local gym and purchasing your very first house.

This bit of news should come as a great surprise to fans of the series. As a celebration of the ten-year anniversary of the original Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Xbox 360 owners can now pick up the slightly remastered title this upcoming Sunday. In addition to this, a special weekend event in Grand Theft Auto V is coming up; you can get all the details here.
