It’s somewhat strange to see that Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has been given a rating of MA 15+ for a modified version of the game, which has been on store shelves for nearly a decade. Nobody knows for sure what this modification is, but I’m hoping we’ll see a fresh coat of paint where it’s needed (textures and pop-in reduction, mostly).
Kotaku speculates that this might be a signal of Playstation 2 games finally coming the the Playstation Network as downloads, a much-sought after addition to PSN since Sony nixed backwards compatibility in the PS3 line.
It could also just mean the game will be coming to the Xbox Live Marketplace as an Xbox Original, though I doubt that. There haven’t been any Xbox 1 games released since at least November. (That’s how far Major Nelson’s Marketplace feed goes for Games on Demand.)
