PlayStation 3 players can now download Eurocom’s reimagining of Goldeneye starring Daniel Craig as James Bond 007.
Goldeneye 007: Reloaded puts Craig’s grittier take on Bond in a retelling of Goldeneye which in movie form originally starred Pierce Brosnan. Updated and presented in the tone of the Craig’s Bond films (Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace) Reloaded is also an attempt to revitalize the popularity of the original Goldeneye game released on the Nintendo 64, which to this day is still considered legendary among multiplayer first person shooters.
The Nintendo Wii was the first to get this remake which was then ported and updated for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 adding the Reloaded subtitle. In addition to the campaign the game also includes an Mi6 Ops Missions mode allowing players to play through a variety individual missions throughout the environments presented in the main game. These include different Assault, Elimination, Stealth and Defense objectives. And of course multiplayer is included, built upon what made the original so popular, either in four player split screen or up to 16 players online.
The story is of course based on the original screenplay for the 1995 Goldeneye, which in turn has been updated by one of the original screenwriters, Bruce Feirstein. Daniel Craig and Dame Judi Dench also provided their voices for both Bond and “M” respectively. Goldeneye 007: Reloaded is now available to download through the PlayStation store for $59.99.
