Gears of War 4 Starts its Official Countdown with Launch Trailer

Gears of War 4

Packed with some serious high-action scenes and introducing extra surprises, the launch trailer of Gears of War 4 keeps the hype high for official release on October 11.

October 11 is the day when all monster of hell will get loose on Gears of War 4. That’s only three weeks away so Xbox has started their own particular countdown with a heavy launch trailer that relies mainly on cinematics and John DiMaggio’s voice to put us directly into the action. And they surely hit a spot with this one.

This trailer offers more details on how the sequel will begin. We were already told that the events of the game cover a single night, with an attack on a settlement by dusk and a story resolution by dawn. Here we can see that gruesome attack and how JD, Marcus Fenix’s son, lives up to expectations by leading a reckon team with two of his friends, Del and Kait. The thread has a name, the Swarm, and it’s coming wrapped in a storm of evil proportions.

Gears of War relies on action packed moments and crazy weapons – that’s their working recipe. However, this new title also have a focus on narrative. Ultimately, Gears of War 4 is about surviving the night while untangling the mystery behind the arrival of these creatures. After watching the trailer we cannot but wonder about Marcus’ destiny as well…

Remember that Gears of War 4 belongs to the Play Anywhere program and this means that there’s cross-platform co-op play between Xbox One and Windows 10 users. In this way, you will “never fight alone” (as the trailer tells us), but you’ll also save your game progress, achievements and scores across platforms. If you are a Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition owner, then you’ll skip the launch date and start playing already on October 7, early access style.
