DVD-ROM discs allow for 7.95GBs of data. Previously, the Xbox 360 was programmed for only be able to read 6.5GBs of game data, limiting the space that developers could use on the disc. Microsoft heard the cries from developers and finally updated the firmware on the 360 to allow for an extra gigabyte of disc space to be used.
