The Gamer Gauntlet cruise is hosted by Gamer Tech Events and promises an itinerary that any video gamer will love. “The cruise will combine all the luxuries of any Royal Caribbean cruise while also providing an entire lineup of entertainment catered to gaming enthusiasts,” said the event page.
The cruise will feature immersion rooms designed to combine floor to ceiling screens with unique sensory experiences. The WarZone is designed to “drop you in the middle of the battlefield,” while the Autobahn room will “make you feel like you’re truly behind the wheel of your own racecar.”
Professional gamers will be on-board and take part in eSports tournaments. Additionally, amateur players will have a chance to play against the pros. Lastly, a charity tournament will also be featured, letting players support a charitable cause.
Tech lovers are also covered. The cruise promises to feature hands-on demos with VR headsets as well as Microsoft’s HoloLens. Finally, entertainment features concerts from acts such as Video Games Live and Mega Ran.
While video games will be the focus, attendees will also have time to explore the Bahamas during the trip. Off boat events include an island concert and beach party as well as shore time in Nassau. The cruise runs from October 20-22. Tickets are currently available and range from $350 to $2,800.
