The Game Awards 2015 slated for December

It seems that even though it was announced all the way back at E3, it appears that everyone seemed to miss that The Game Awards 2015 will be happening again in December this year.

The award show, hosted by veteran games journalist Jeff Keighley, rose from the ashes of the Spike TV‘s VGA’s and aims to be an award show for gamers (as opposed to the Spike crowd, which is marketed to using bullets, boobs, booze) had its inaugural show in December last year, and Keighley stated in January that the planning for the show was already taking place.

Last year The Game Awards featured announcements and previews among its lineup of awards that saw Bioware’s Dragon Age: Inquisition take home game of the year (as well as best RPG), as well as honoring Ken and Roberta Williams (the creators of the King’s Quest series) with an honorary award.

The Game Awards 2014 Game of the Year

The Game Awards 2015 will take place in in December

As well as handing out the usual slate of more predictable awards (Game of the Year, Best in Genre etc.), The Game Awards celebrates gaming culture and hands out awards to Esports organizations, as well as honoring the fans, and more prominent figures like Twitch, and YouTube personalities (John “TotalBiscuit” Bain was the winner last year).

An exact date for this years The Game Awards has not been announced as of yet, but you can log on to The Game Fanatics for any updates, as well as coverage for the show as it approaches in a few months.
