Is it too early to get excited for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt? Because these screenshots look really good. Even though it doesn’t come out until next year, and on an entirely new generation of consoles, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt looks worthy of any RPG fan’s radar. We get great shots of a wide variety of locales, like forests, towns, pastures and seas. The world of The Witcher 3 certainly looks to be a lively one, and a place where gamers can expect to put away hours into exploring.
According to story details given to us, that may just be the case. The press release promises 50 hours of story-driven gameplay in just the main path, with side quests offering an additional 50. The developer also promises divergent paths, where your choices impact the story. With a world 30 times larger than the one found in The Witcher 2, The Witcher 3 is aiming high.
Developer CD Projekt RED is definitely trying to give gamers a story worth playing through multiple times. Both main quests and side quests effect the world in some way as Geralt faces challenges from the Wild Hunt and his own personal quest to find his loved ones. We won’t know just how much the story will change based on the different choices, but you should expect, as our press release puts it, “an even more nonlinear experience than ever before.” The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will release for PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, and Xbox “Durango” next year.
