In what continues to be a tradition for Blizzard to book big name bands for the closing ceremonies of their annual BlizzCon, they have today announced that The Foo Fighters will rock out some tunes in the convention halls. While the convention itself is sold out, you are still able to watch the concert, as well as just about the rest of the entire convention, on DirecTV or online with a BlizzCon Virtual Ticket. This will be the second straight year that Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl will visit Anaheim in late October; he was the drummer last year for Tenacious D.
Opening up the concert will be The Artist Formerly Known as Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain, Blizzard‘s in-house band, with the promise of both familiar hits and new tracks that draw from the Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo franchises.
“We’re pretty sure that in the future, music historians will look back at BlizzCon 2011 as the unquestionable pinnacle of Foo Fighters’ long and illustrious career,” said Dave Grohl. “We look forward to living up to that prediction by bringing the Horde and Alliance together to rock the hell out of Anaheim next month.”
Bring the Horde and Alliance together? I don’t want any gnomes or night elves to interrupt my convention experience…
