First Screens of X-Men: Apocalypse Revealed

X-Men: Apocalypse Storm Psylocke

20th Century Fox‘s much anticipated upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse got a whole slew of colorful new screenshots today courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.

Olivia Munn is rocking the traditional Psylocke costume from the X-Men comics and looks great as the character. Alexandra Shipp plays Storm and is thankfully playing the mohawked version, which as any X-Men fan can tell you is the best one. Michael Fassbender returns in his third time playing Magneto, the Master of Magnetism, and seems to have gone shopping in between X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse. His new look is much more armored than any previous incarnation and may have something to do with the rumors of him becoming one of Apocalypse‘s Four Horsemen.

Speaking of which, Oscar Isaac as the titular villain is the target of the most criticism so far. Instead of the giant, ripped, quasi-immortal, Egyptian badass, Apocalypse looks more like the wimpier, younger brother of the villain of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: The Movie, Ivan Ooze.

But who knows? Set photos have a tendency to look strange without any context; maybe there’s some effects or post-production magic that needs to be inserted to make Apocalypse as threatening as Marvel fans know him to be.

Like so.
Like so.

More news will be released as X-Men: Apocalypse‘s release date (May 27, 2016) nears, but for now, fans can look at all the exclusive photos by following the link below.
