Firewatch Hits Half Million Sales In First Month

Campo Santo’s first title, Firewatch, has sold more than 500,000 copies since its launch last February. This news came from the publisher of Firewatch, Panic Inc. and the company stated that the game was a “huge” investment for them.

Initial sales for Firewatch helped Panic Inc. earned its money back within a day of launch. Panic Inc. commented on through their blog posts about the game reaching such a high sales rate. “We’re so grateful. And relieved. But mostly grateful.”

Firewatch impressed people with its stunning visuals, impressive dialogue and voice acting, but did end up disappointing consumers when it came to its conclusion.

Though the attention given by Panic Inc. and Campo Santo won’t stop according to the publisher. Through their blog post, Panic Inc. ensures that the developing team will continue to identify problems by seeking out social media comments, streams and more in the days to come.

“Everybody at Campo Santo worked like crazy to make things even better. For example, a lot of people weren’t happy with the game’s performance on PlayStation 4, so the team cranked and quickly pushed out a PS4 patch that dramatically improved the PS4 experience.

And the great thing: we’re not quite done. We’re still fixing bugs. And we’re still working on ways to improve performance all across the board, including on PlayStation 4 and the Mac. There’s more to come.”

Richard reviewed Firewatch when the game first came out and even gave it a perfect score. His explanation for why he gave the game such high praise can be found at his review.
