Finn Jones Unlocks His Inner Chi in Marvel’s Iron Fist

Finn Jones leaps into action in the title role of Marvel’s Iron Fist a new series arriving exclusively on Netflix

Fresh from his role as Loras Tyrell in HBO’s Game of Thrones, Jones will mix things up in a role that couldn’t be further away from his knightly turn in Westeros.

Jones is set to play Danny Rand, a New Yorker returning home after a long and mysterious disappearance. The show will center on Rand, battling the criminal element of New York’s seedy underbelly under the guise of Iron Fist; a refreshingly unique superhero whose strength hinges on both his mastery of Kung-Fu, along with his power to draw on ancient spiritual energy to enhance his fists and feet into supercharged weapons.

Show runner Scott Buck laid out the show’s premise by saying “Danny Rand is a very complicated character. He’s a billionaire New York Buddhist monk martial arts superhero who’s still trying to figure out what exactly that all means.” The prospect of playing such a drastically different role might be a little bit frightening; but Buck then went on to praise Jones’ acting chops saying: “Finn is able to play all these levels in such an honest, revelatory way that as soon as I saw him I knew he was our Danny.”

Marvel’s Iron Fist will deliver the final missing piece needed for the already announced Defenders TV show, teaming Iron Fist with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage – who will branch off into his own show- and Daredevil, all of which have a home on Netflix already. The MCU is expanding as fast as lightning!
