For the first time in a UFC game, female fighters will be a part of the selectable roster in EA Sports UFC. Players will be able to pit two female fighters against one another, and the roster will be spearheaded by UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, Ronda Rousey followed by top bantamweight contender and rival, Miesha Tate.
The Women’s Bantamweight Division was added earlier this year, and UFC President Dana White had the following to say about the newest addition to EA Sports UFC:
Since we added the Women’s Bantamweight division earlier this year, the women have impressed everyone. The fights are always exciting, Ronda Rousey is as talented as any champion in the UFC and her rivalry with Miesha Tate is one of the most intense in UFC history. The female division has become a huge part of the UFC and fans will now be able to experience fighting with them in the game.
White‘s excitement for teaming up with EA to create a UFC game under the EA Sports umbrella was always prevalent. Now with the addition of female fighters, that excitement seems more warranted than ever.
Players will be able to pit both male and female fighters against one another with EA Sports UFC in the virtual octagon this coming Spring of 2014.
