Far Cry 4's Arena Mode Is a Fight For Survival

It seems as though Ubisoft has taken a page out of the old gladiatorial days of ancient Rome for their upcoming open-world shooter, Far Cry 4.

That’s right, Far Cry 4’s Arena Mode will pit the player in a massive colosseum filled with energetic crowds as you are forced to face off against Kyrat’s vicious locals and exotic wildlife.

The teaser trailer does a great job in setting up this brand new mini-game mode for Far Cry 4. As seen in the trailer, Ajay is chased down by a “brave elephant” and even trampled by a “fierce tiger.” What’s interesting is that there’s even AI-controlled human enemies thrown into the mix as well. Far Cry’s general gunplay and variety of brutal chained-takedowns will definitely help when facing wave after wave of baddies.

Overall, Arena Mode looks as though it’s going to be a great change of pace for those players who have already completed the main campaign or just want to take a break from the game’s narrative.

The trailer concludes with a bit of awesome news, too. Pre-order the game at the retailer of your choice and you will automatically receive a free upgrade to the Limited Edition of the game. This means you’ll get access to three extra story missions and a powerful harpoon gun! Oh boy, who wouldn’t want to go adventuring across the mountains and villages of Kyrat with a harpoon gun?!

Far Cry 4 is due to arrive November 18th on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. Make sure you give our news coverage a glance for more information on the game.
