FANATINATOR: May 25, 2010

Well, last week attempt seem like it was easy. At least over 500,000 people thought so. Okay, we didn’t convince all of them, but we are sure we played some role in the sales. With that being said, check out this week’s picks. Please do be advised, these are OUR opinions and they are for you to JUDGE. Also, these are different then review scales. For example, I could give a game a 8.5/10, but say you may want to think about it with a 7 on the FANATINATOR scale. With that being said, let’s see what’s going on this week…

Want to know how the scale works, go here and find out!

Just like last week, we have four major games that are to be released. Unlike last time, one game came out on Sunday, but it is still included in this week’s FANATINATOR.

May 23, 2010 – May 28, 2010

UFC Undisputed 2010 (PS3/360)

Ok, this game has received very little hype. THQ is even going to charge to go online, if you buy the game used. Now I’m not saying that it’s a reason not to buy the game, but just think about it. If the company decides to make a UFC 2011, then we know that it is going to be the next Madden: good for a few years, then just a rehash. So, when you are walking into your local game retailer, just think twice. Try out the demo, if you haven’t.

FANATINATOR SCALE: 4

Blur (PC/PS3/360)

Here is something new. From the makers of the Project Gothem Racing series, Bizzare Creations, Blur looks like it will be very fun to play. Unfortunately, it seems like it will be better to play this game online. There really isn’t a motive to play the game by yourself.  If anything, online looks like the best route. With different power-ups, there will be crazy gamer nights. Hopefully, the game will have some success.

FANATINATOR SCALE: 6

Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)

I think the title speaks for itself. When ever Nintendo puts out a Mario title, it is bound to be good. Don’t be fooled, just because this title is on the Wii, it is amazing on every front. You can tell the work that Nintendo has put into it. As I stated earlier, it came out Sunday, so, some of you may already have your hands on it. With scores like IGN‘s, there is no reason to over look this game.

FANATINATOR SCALE: 9

Modnation Racers (PS3/PSP)

With the success of the beta, Modnation seems like a title that could truly do some damage. With a limitless supply of customization, this could possibly be Mario Kart on triple the steroids. If you are in love with Forza games, then there is no reason why you shouldn’t love this. With the downloadable content that is coming out with the game, you should have a splendid time, with these LittleBigPlanet-like characters. Who knows? You may see Kevin Butler in the game. Don’t take our word for it though.
