FANATINATOR: May 18, 2010

Ok, our first attempt to help you decide on which game to buy. Please do be advised, these are OUR opinions and they are for you to JUDGE. Also, these are different then review scales. For example, I could give a game a 8.5/10, but say you may want to think about it with a 7 on the FANATINATOR scale. With that being said, let’s see what’s going on this week…

May 17, 2009 – May 21, 2009

There are four major games coming out this week. Unfortunately, these games are coming out the same day, and they all are pretty good.

Red Dead Redemption

Now, who doesn’t want to be in the wild, wild, rest? We know you do. Rockstar Games had made sure to include a revamped story from the first one. The graphics are something to be reckoned with (no pun intended.) Did we leave out anything? Oh yeah, an awesome multi-player, with the addition of a posse and free roam!

FANATINATOR SCALE: 10

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

Ubisoft is known for making great games. Our question is, where was the marketing for this game? Sure there is moving coming out, but it has nothing to do with the game. If you really want know what this game is about, you have to do some deep researching, and that is not cool. There wasn’t even a demo for the game. We really wanted to see what this game could do, but Ubisoft thought otherwise.

FANATIATOR SCALE: 3

Alan Wake

This is the game that is probably up there with Red Dead. It has been in production for six years, but it has been put to work. With many reviews already out, there is no doubt that this game should be skipped. Unless you only have Playstation 3, and if that is the case, we suggest you get a Xbox 360. Who knows, this game could be one of those games you could win.

FANATINATOR SCALE: 9

Split/Second

With a lot of racing games already on the market, Split/Second is one of the games that is different in some ways. If you remember the movie, Death Race, then you could get a sense what this game is about. Now it isn’t as gorey as the movie (in fact, there is no killing or jail time), but it carries the same sense as the movie. It is a reality show, and you use your environment. Oh, and Disney publishes it. All we have to say is wow.
