Fallout 4: Mods Arrive to PlayStation 4 with Next Update

Fallout 4

A new Fallout 4 update has just arrived for PC. Consoles will get it later on in November, along with the final introduction of mods for PlayStation 4.

Like with Skyrim, the existence of mods for Fallout 4 is a creativity phenomenon driven exclusively by the community that scores quite high in popularity and usage. However and until some months ago, all these mod possibilities were working on the PC title only, for the consternation of many. As an answer to players’ request, Bethesda promised a while back the introduction of mod support for last gen consoles. While the Xbox One version received it some months ago, PlayStation 4 users were still waiting in a sort of limbo. It seems that this delay is coming to an end pretty soon.

Bethesda announced yesterday via their Fallout Twitter page that the next console update is bringing finally that mod support for PlayStation 4. The tweet does not specify when that update is exactly happening although everything pinpoints to this month. It’s also worth mentioning that the PlayStation 4 version, unlike the PC and XBox ones, will only allow mods created from pre-existing game assets.

Fallout 4 Update 1.8 is Here!

On the other hand, Bethesda released yesterday their Update 1.8 for PC. As we know it, the era of DLC for Fallout 4 is pretty much done but Bethesda remains loyal to the release of free updates. On top of adding the mod support to the Creation Kit, this update 1.8 is addressing specially crash errors, sound effects and other bugs related with specific quests. It also adds some fixes for mod issues.

Although we need to wait for the console update, it’s quite likely that it will just mirror the list of general improvements for PC. You can check the official dev notes here.
