Watch: The Elder Scrolls Online Will Revisit Morrowind In A New Expansion

Nostalgic gamers be wary! Miss the colorful island of Vvardenfell? The iconic setting of The Elder Scrolls III is making a comeback in the upcoming The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind expansion. It will be the multiplayer’s biggest expansion to date, not only adding over 30 hours of fresh content, but also introducing a new Trial, a 4v4v4 PvP mode and -for the first time- a new playable class, the Warden!

Bethesda announced in an epic cinematic trailer that Morrowind will launch on June 6th for PC, Mac, PS4 and Xbox One, bringing back memories of the game that set ground for Oblivion and Skyrim with Indoril Nerevar’s profecy. However, the ESO’s expansion will take place 700 years before the events of the original game, with its map still being completely accurate, but filled with an original story to follow.

Fight Back to Back With Bears In Vvardenfell

The Warden class is joining the ranks of The Elder Scrolls Online, ready to watch over his party with sword, magic, and… a war bear. This ferocious companion is one of the Warden’s unique features and, much alike Hunters in most MMOs, it will act as an independent ally when you summon it with the Warden’s ultimate. That’s not it for this duo, staying true to his wild nature the Warden brings to Tamriel the all-new nature magic, which he will combine with ice casting to protect and tank his party.

Whether they choose to embark directly or create a new character, players will arrive to VVanderfell to help the legendary warrior Vivec, who suffers from a mysterious illness that cripples his power. Without the island’s guardian danger rises everywhere, from the Volcanic Ashlands to Seyda Neen, so it isn’t a surprise that you find a location packed with unexplored dungeons and new characters in need of help.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind Mushroom Forests

But when it comes to challenge, Morrowind brings two for players to face relentlessly. First, the new Battleground PvP, which consists in a 4v4v4 arena fight that’ll take groups to an intense finale in the Volcanic Ashlands. Secondly comes the new Trial. The name’s fit for the seven trials the player had to fulfill in the original The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, but in this case it consists on a 12-player PvE mode that offers unique rewards upon competition.

Gamers who already enjoy the title will be able to get The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind for $39.99, while newcomers will have the chance to buy the complete game plus the expansion for $59.99. Due to the extension and iconic nature of MorrowindBethesda will release both digital and physical collector’s edition that come with exclusive in-game content and unique rewards from Vvardenfell’s tales.
