The Elder Scrolls: Legends Launches On PC

The Elder Scrolls: Legends Gameplay

Bethesda’s free-to-play digital card game The Elder Scrolls: Legends officially launches today on PC.

The publisher also detailed launch dates for other platforms. The iPad version will launch on March 23. Android Tablet support follows in April and Mac support in May. Phone support will be coming in early summer. The game, which has been in an open beta since August 2016, will feature a single player story mode as well as competitive modes. Beta players will have their cards and progress carry over into the full release.

In addition to launching the game, Bethesda also detailed upcoming content plans. The first story update launches on April 5. According to a press release, The Fall of the Dark Brotherhood features “more than 20 missions spread across three maps.” It will also include 40 new cards. Buying the expansion will give players access to an exclusive mount in The Elder Scrolls Online. Bethesda said this kind of integration between the two games will continue. The company also teased an upcoming announcement later this year. “We’re not ready to spoil those plans just yet, but stay tuned during E3 this June for the announcement of a big expansion coming early this summer, complete with a huge new set of cards, new mechanics and more,” said the publisher in a statement.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends is a collectible card game developed by Dire Wolf Digital. One of the game’s defining features is the use of lanes in combat. The standard rules provide two lanes. Creatures and spells are played in lanes and can generally only attack or affect the same lane. The game marks Bethesda’s entry into the digital card game market. Research firm Superdata said the genre could pull in $1.4 billion in 2017. You can download The Elder Scrolls: Legends for free through the game’s website.
