E3 2019 – Final Fantasy VII Remake Comes March 2020

Final Fantasy VII was originally released back in 1997 on PlayStation by Square. Fast forward to June 2019, Square Enix finally announces a release date for the long awaited remake, and it’s coming to PlayStation 4 on March 3, 2020.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

When the first tech demo was shown back at E3 in 2005, the long anticipation of the remake was a constant discussion. Were we ever going to get a release date? That was a continuous question after how long it took Kingdom Hearts 3 to come out. After Square Enix announced it again at E3 2015, there was actual hope for the game. There was a long gap of silence, but Square Enix sparks that light once again with a huge surprise to fans yesterday.

Tetsuya Nomura (Director, FFVII Remake) and Yoshinori Kitase (Producer, FFVII Remake) greeted fans at the Final Fantasy VII: A Symphonic Reunion concert last night announcing that it will hit next spring worldwide. Now that it’s back in the public eye, Final Fantasy VII Remake will be one of the main topic of discussions later this evening.

The new teaser trailer shows more footage of the gameplay. The original game was separated into three discs. Are they still set to make this an episodic game? Many fans are definitely hoping they throw that idea out. We are also missing an important member from AVALANCHE and that is Tifa Lockhart. Where is Tifa? Hopefully we’ll get some of these questions answered tonight at the press conference.

If you haven’t already, check out the new teaser trailer below that was shown at last night’s concert:

What do you guys think about the new teaser trailer? What are you looking forward to during Square Enix’s E3 press conference this evening? You can catch the press conference tonight, Monday, June 10 at 9:00PM ET.
