E3 2014 | Rainbow Six Siege May Have Stolen E3

Back and looking better than ever, it’s been six years since we’ve had a Rainbow Six game. A brief history on the latest title is that it’s replacing another Rainbow Six game that was set to be named Patriots.

Patriots was announced in 2011 and had a lot of controversy swirling about due to the nature of it’s story line that dealt with home grown terrorism and human morality.

So, why do I think Rainbow Six: Siege could have easily stolen E3 2014?

For starters it literally brought tears to Aisha Tyler’s eyes. It was premiered without any fancy CGI, which is more than what almost all of the other game showcases can say. It featured recorded footage of how tactical the online gameplay can be. You must work very intimately with your team to plan out an entrance and extraction plan to save a hostage. You will need to use teamwork like never before, playing with a microphone-less crew could be a huge disadvantage.

Another thing that blew me away was the superiority of the destructive environments. The extent of most environments in FPS today is a window breaking if you shoot it, or part of a pillar falling off when it takes too much gun fire. In Rainbow Six: Siege the drywall breaks into huge holes as it actually would if you were shooting it, doors fall off of it’s hinges from just enough pressure, and you can even blow through the floor with breach charges. I could go on and on about how cool this game is, but you can check out the footage for yourselves.

Don’t forget the initial warning. This is pre-alpha footage. It looks this good already.
