Microsoft’s E3 2014 press conference might have shown us the combination of stealth and teamplay style of Tom Clancy’s The Division earlier today, but there was still room left to show some of the game’s overall narrative in the story.
Ubisoft chose to premiere an especially emotional and humanizing cinematic trailer for Tom Clancy’s The Division at their own E3 conference.
The small four minute trailer featured some pretty dark and brooding pictures, with a camera taking a tour of the inside of an apartment while cycling through a time lapse indicating how things went from good times through a downward spiral. Set in New York city, the nation seems heavily divided between various factions and civilian innocents who have been infected with a disease that has been rapidly spreading following a Black Friday. Not only has the narrator speaking throughout the cinematic seen people tear each other apart, he also seems to have the strength to pull people back together, even if it means using some justified force. Together, you and your team have taken on the task of protecting those who have been afflicted.
The Division is a really cool title for the game when you consider the story set up. The name really hits home now, and it’s exciting to see Ubisoft take on a more realistic and human approach in capturing a future filled with a Nation that has turned on itself, leaving a team of four to bring peace in any way that they can.
The trailer is truly haunting and bound to give you goosebumps. Check out the official E3 cinematic trailer for Tom Clancy’s The Division.
