E3 2013 | Nintendo Reveals The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Nintendo has confirmed the title for a sequel to A Link to the Past, coming to the Nintendo 3DS: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

In an announcement that was strangely nowhere to be seen during this morning’s Nintendo Direct E3 presentation, Nintendo has released the following trailer for their upcoming Nintendo 3DS game, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

Nintendo has confirmed that not only does this game take place in the same world as The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, which is considered by many to be one of the best games in the Zelda franchise, but it is in fact a direct sequel, and will use similar elements that made the Super NES original such a standout, including the ability to warp between a “Light World” and “Dark World.” Link also gets some new abilities, like being able to turn into a 2D wall painting to avoid traps and solve puzzles.

Unfortunately Nintendo hasn’t revealed an official release date for The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, but they’re aiming for a release by the end of the year, most likely to meet the shopping demands of the annual Holiday Season.
